Rebonding... - A Step Towards a Makeover

Rebonding. Speak this word and you'll spark off a discussion with mixed reactions. .. (among both gals, and today's fashion conscious guys). It is a chemical process by which the texture of your hair can be changed and they become smooth and straight, irrespective of how they were before. Sounds exciting ... does it?

Well, look at d pic here, n u'll know how exciting it must be... a least for an onlooker of the chemical process. I got rebonding done, out of sheer curiosity (and one other funny reason as well..) as to what happens once one gets it done...and what makes it such a scary thing for many people.

It was a funny experience.
I sank in in one of the empty seats, in anticipation of what might they do to my hair. A protective garment was wrapped around my neck and my hair wetted and combed straight. They then squeezed out a white paste (that horrible smelling chemical!) and applied it to my hair, taking just about 100 strands at a time(dint seem more than that..). They then carefully sandwiched that set of hair with a rectangular piece of some -kinda-thick-paper. This was repeated for different sets of strands of hair, and soon enough i was looking like this:-

And as if an icing was missing. my head was finally covered with a foil paper! (An ALUMINIUM Foil!!! ) My friend, who had thankfully consented to accompany me, commented lightly that I was looking like Tantya Tope! She was having a merry time clicking pics of my sorry state...

I stayed like that for about an hour, after which all of that irritating stuff was removed from my head, and the smelly chemical washed off from my hair. My hair were then blow dried. But what came next was a lil more disconcerting.

Press. The press with which u iron your clothes. That was what my hair were subjected to, next. Only, this was an instrument designed for ironing hair only. This time about twenty strands of my hair (counted 20!) were taken at a time, and 'ironed', for about 10 minutes. There were 4 men standing on my head and doing it simultaneously - time saving tactic probably. Nevertheless, the whole ironing task took another hour in total.

My hair were shining away by the time the ordeal ended (and smelling strongly too, of the shampoo used.. nice smell that was though..). Pretty as they were looking, the customers around started expressing their surprise at the wonderful 'results' of the chemical treatment. But they did not know probably that it had been four hours of sitting and enduring something that wasn't very pleasing to any of the five senses (Barr the sense of taste; they were serving good coffee) ... I had to purchase a specific shampoo and conditioner and serum, as according to the professional's prescription, to ensure good health of my hair.
I paid the total amount (I'm not going to tell how much), smiled at their elated parting comments about my hair , ("oh the results are so good. They always are good on 'virgin hair'. Your hair are looking very pretty...." blah!) and walked out with my dear friend who kept me company the whole time; which was one great thing .. god bless her!

My hair are looking gorgeous now, especially after i got a new hair cut too and compliments have been pouring in. But this was perhaps the last experience of its kind in my life.. hopefully so.

Phew, novel though the experience was, i found it funny enough to share here..
Ill have more interesting stuff than this to share in the near future...
Till then, have fun blog world...

Rotaract 'Chandigarh - Kasauli' - 2009

What better a start to our last sem in this college could we had expected...
Our Rotaract Club's Trip to Chandigarh (Extended to Kasauli forcibly - Thank God that the force behind 'forcible extension' was strong enuffff....)

Would sum-up the whole 3-day experience in a few lines written by a friend (also an amazing companion on the trip)... He versifies our lovely trip as follows:

"A trip to a beautiful city,
with friends and friends to be...
With faces filled with excitement n glee,
did we embark on a magnificient journey...
An important junction and deserving it'd be,
in our meandering path to terminal destiny...

In the foggy dim we carved our light,
and sculpted in our minds the breathtaking sight...

We shared the truths from private shelves,
and jestfully dared to find new selves...
Every moment so joyous and lovely it was,
none shall fade as time would pass..."

Loved every arcsec of every minute soooo applaudable-ly spent... Wasn't at all a 'Yet Another Trip'... Moments engraved forever...

A lovely & endearing start to 2009...
May this New Year bring lots n lots of frolic in everyone's lives...
Keep Enjoying...

God Bless All !!!
