12 December...

....Amidst heap of books & notes around me on bed, 2 hrs past the start of my b'day... Was wondering that what could have been the importance of this day in history... Offcourse it marks birth of the 'Aditya'... But still there could be somewhat less important events as well that this beautiful day has witnessed in past... Google Worshiper... What I'm... Provoked me to switch on the net n Google it out... But then another fone call n I realized ki exam hai subah... Got lost again in books...

Toh finally 2day got some time to Google it... N there were some events which got lucky enuff to share their occurence with the day of my birth - 12 December... :P

Apart from Rajnikant & Yuvraj sharing b'days with me & Malaika-Arbaz's Shaadi...found a few ajeeb ones like:

1911: Delhi replaced Calcutta as capital of India...

1917: First World War: 500 French soldiers involved in Italy got mysteriously killed when train derailed in Modane.

1913: Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa was stolen from Louvre Gallery in Paris... Was found in the bedroom of a small hotel in Florence, Italy the same day...

1941: Second World War: Adolf Hitler ordered 'Clean sweep Extermination' of the Jews all around the world in a public speech...

1971: Indo-Pak War: Indian Air Force struck Pak Troups hard in blitzkrieg approach... Also dropped leaflets urging Pak to suurender...

2008: Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi released N Alex Braineir got seized with teeth of a mad dog outside his office (Courtesy: Alex Braineir microblogging at some site where I reached dunno how)...

So to conclude, there was nothing very important I got afta all that effort that I was expecting...
N m happy to have this day remembered only for a very few good reasons - one being mine... :)

* Hey ... Do tell hwz the new look of blog or shud i revert back to the earlier one ???

Met A Lil Girl ...

Hmmmm...Winter Vacations...Adore this time of year soo much...

N this tym I got a chance to get away from usual course (though only for 2 days) to attend a function at Mama's place in Rajasthan... But still got full opportunity to feel the chill by leaving at 5 in the morning (night actually it was) to catch an early morning train... Loved d 'Swish-Swish' of cold air passing by my ear... Dat lesser than 20m visibility... Dew everywhere around n that virtual smoking dat I had been missing since early morning skool daz... Loved it all...

Met this little girl as my neighbour on d way in train...

Quiet she sat beside me on the middle seat... I could see dat she wasn't happy being between a stranger(i.e. me on window seat) & her Grandmom(on aisle seat) of that Chair Car Coach of train... Her mom n dad being in the next seats at the back...

Sooo cute she was that I kept switching views between the window scene outside n her typical childishly cute chores... Jaldi hi, I realised ki she was willing to be on my window seat (as I used to like wen i was small...N 2day as well)... She was constantly leaning over me to look outside n as soon as I would turn my face towards her's... She wud just shy away as if she was into something she wud be scolded for... I finally overheard her talking to her grandmom saying - "Dekha jaldi aate toh meko khidki waali seat milti"...

Offered her my seat n in return got sucha lovely smile... I could see in her eyes how much she loved the gesture... N I too felt euphoric that it made her happy... In the swapping of seats with her I got to talk to her... She was much younger than wot I had thot (I had guessed her to be around 6-7 but she told dat she was in LKG... dat means 3-4 yrs old)...

Didn't chat much n she again got hooked with her nose on the window pane looking outside n often turning here to show sum stuff outside... Kept chirping thngs to herself... N I kept observing n observing... Jus talked once more wen she asked me to have some chip from Lays Family Size Packet... I took one... N her grandmom came in saying -"Good girl"... (I jus had one chip...n it was fine... but Lays waale toh keep saying in tagline -"No one can eat just one" )...hehehe..PJ...

Datz it... 3 hrs passed sooo chop-chop n I got down with my mom from train at our station...

She must have continued with her nose on window pane...N her hand goin in n out of dat Lays Pack...Munch munch sounds among those continous attractive n holding talks she was into with herself... :)

Whatever... she made my day with her lovely smile n I hope I made her's by xchanging seats with her...

Yea... Forgot to ask her name... Her mom from the backseat once cried - "Nonuu... gandi baat"... 'Nonu' must have been her nickname... Anyways m gonna remember her as a cute..lil..angel-like girl who made my day with that 1000 Watt smile...

* N hey sumthng's cooking... new post may arrive soon if I find sumthng on Google...

Keep Smilling !!!

God Bless All !!!

'School is Coooolll '.....

.... thats what many of the slam book entries, by friends at school, reads. The slam book that i made everyone fill, during our last few days at school...

School has such a charm to it; a child-like innocence abounds, an innocence and a freeness that i realized i had long forgotten; that i seem to have re-learnt today..Thanks to the food fest organized at my school today.

I had visited school quite a few times in the last few months, but everytime it was after school hours, when the school is all empty. For today however, i had decided to visit and be a part of the food fest. And so i reached school at 11-o-clock. And lo... the scene looked like that of a fete! It all seemed grand and complete with swings, food stalls(set up house-wise), game stalls (set up and managed class wise), a baby show going on on the stage, and along with all this, songs being played and dedicated on requests from those present there. There was a DJ floor set up in the audi, while the enclosed green area in front of it had a variety of innovative and interesting art works on display, made by children of junior classes.

I had started by taking a round around the school, observing everything my eyes could possibly take in. Once in the school ground, i met all my teachers one after the other. I was pretty ashamed that i dint remember most of them by their names. But surely i remembered all of them by the lil incidents and the lil things i learnt from them. Like how My Hindi teacher, in class Xth., couldn’t believe that i could write some hi-fi Hindi dialogues for a patriotic play, in spite of having a track record of awful Hindi papers...:) It was, however, bcs of her teaching itself that i could write those lines for a play, which won us the first prize..! i loved meeting all my teachers. Each one of them had this look of contentedness which was a treat for my eyes. They were handling stalls with great enthu, and were happy too on meeting ex-students they had taught. It was heartening to see ex-students, who passed out even some 10 years ago, coming on this occasion.

All the teachers i met informed me abt the registration gng on for an alumni association. So i headed for the counter they directed me to, and registered myself. I also left a suggestion for a DJ party for all our batch mates, for i miss those that we had during school days..

One thing struck me hard.. there was not a single soul from my batch, whom i could spot during the one and a half hours i spent there. In spite of the fact that many of them knew abt this event. Goes to show how busy we can get in building our lives both for the short term and long term. Or probably there are some other reasons for not grabbing such opportunities to re-live the beautiful school times.. reasons that i cant see..

Everything seemed just the same as before.. and looking at all the display boards at various parts of the school building was enjoyable too. All those bold captions, strong messages conveyed thru crisp writings and other displays, interesting decorations, announcements for various competitions... everything rang a bell.. of how happening school life always was...:) and how subtly school life shapes us into what we are.. and will be...

***** Happy Birthday to Me *****

Hey Blogger... Sorry was outta sight and reach for soooooo long... But see m back just for you even in the midst of my Semester Examinations... N yes ... Wish All Good Things for Me... Coz its Mah B'day 2day... :) :) :) :)

Hmmm... The day is almost at the brink of changing... N yes it was an eventful one... Atleast eventful enough for a post...
Started 12'o Clock Midnight 2day was the stream of calls that seemed to never end... Almost every1 that I could have thought of remembered mah b'day... Abhi realized that Orkut may have helped a few... I should have disabled the thing there...

I had an exam 2day (which has been going from last 4 yrz - havin an exam on b'day)... Kinda spoils a bit of fun but chalta hai... Went into the paper with an extraordinarily meagre preparation for a tufffffyyyy paper as this one... Goofd up on a lotto questions... Khair it had to end n it did after those 3 toilsome hrz at the first seat of the row in exactly front of the examiner... At times I felt 2day ki hez just sitting to take my exam... Feels like ajeeb at the first seat... Have to face the same trauma again for 2 more papers left...

Found a pleasant surprise outside my examination centre (actually an understatement to be honest)... Found a frnd outside the centre who had abso no knowledge where I could have been... N I could have never expected this from her... A cake for me at my examination centre... Wow !!!!! We celebrated MYYY B'day... Got a few gifts.. Nice ones... The Best among being a 'Diary' - 'Our Diary' with account of sooooo many sweet things of the last few yrz... Cudn't have thought of anything better... Mmmmuuuaaahhhh to you !!!!

So my day finally ends... Yet Another B'day of 21 yrz of my life... Hehehe... :-D

*** Now wot follows is for a speacial person who I knw is definitely gonna read this ***

Hey !!!
I missed you a loooooooot 2day... This has been mah first b'day wen u aren't here... I know you're gonna be very happy 2day as I complete my 21 yrz... Jus wanted to tell you that m missing all that 'Excessive' love, care and affection bestowed on me all these yrz... Jus this much...
N yeah... I got my passport finally done... Sorry thoda delay ho gaya... U had been pinching me for last 3 yrz for it n see the thing i got myself verified on the day u left... N one more thing - I voted against as you would have wished me to - But wot I missed this time was the nagging from 7 in the morning to go n vote...

N I'm trying not to throw my towel on bed before leaving home in the morning... Will keep you update on the progress on this...

P.S. - Plz if you could find some mistakes in the matter I wrote, do correct them... you've been doing them for me itne saalon se... I never used to like it that time... But I miss it nw... :(

Love you lotsss...

Faith...

Since long I have been wanting to write about so may good and bad things. But I feel so overpowered by the on goings of life that I just don’t pay heed to this desire.

Result; a neglected blog. But it's always good to have unexpected sources of inspiration around you. Definitely, if someone reminds you of how u used to get up at 6 in the morning and write, you would feel the zing rushing back to you, wont you??? :)

So I thought let me base this post on some positivity in the midst of a fast life which is ironically dotted with the fear of assault anytime now....

Recently I lost my phone. One of the cheaper Nokia models, but precious it was, for certain reasons. Forgetful as I am, I left it in my office bus on a Thursday evening, after which there was a three day long weekend!
And, alas! I couldn’t contact the bus driver for all the three days that followed. I told my friends and they laughed at me, not as much for my carelessness (for probably they are used to it) but for my belief that the driver might just find it and keep it with himself to give it back on Monday.

Yes that’s what I was hoping for. But Monday morning came, and there was a completely different bus and a different driver :(
My colleagues also laughed at my expectation to get the phone back. "He is sure to have nicked it!!' they had said.

A little after I started the day's work at my desk, I received an IP (an internal messenger that links all employees at office) which I noticed was sent to the whole office. It read thus, "The person who lost a phone in the bus on Thursday, please contact the bus operator"

WOW! I got up to make the call from a colleague’s phone. I ensured that my phone would be handed over to me when I board the bus in the evening.
Just as an FYI, I got it in good condition:)

This little incident proved a lot of things.
For one, having faith is not always in vain. I believe that people around do not always have bad intentions. In fact most of the times they want to help.

All of us learn nice little lessons like 'u must help the one in need', since childhood. But we observe the actions of hardened adults around us and wars that humans perpetrate on each other and slowly unlearn those lessons.

I know that someone dropped a box in a busy market and a little boy who, with all good intentions, tried to give it back to its owner, died, for he never knew it was a bomb. Yet it does not stop me from having faith and helping someone who is in need.. in a similar situation or a different one.

Realize that we are surrounded by our own species. If we lose this faith in each other, it would not only be difficult to live on this earth, but will also mean victory for terror elements. And that is something we don’t want. Do we?

Think about it.

'End of Isolation' - NSG Waiver for India

In the morning I left home with a cognitive content that the 'Deal' would go down and all those bureaucrats and advisors are going to come back home having an all expenses paid holiday at Vienna... N people are going to forget the whole 'Big Story' in a few days constructing space for some other story probably not as important as this one was... or YES !! maybe a bigger one - like a 'Filmstar getting married' or like - 'Khali being kissed at WWE' as 'Breaking News' with 'Exclusive Footages'…

Spent the day doing lots of work , lots n lots of travel n some rhapsodic moments roaming around...Ate a lot 2day...N yeah shopped as well - Not much actually - Just a belt for me...

Returned back to see the news headline 'Deal Done' ... I'm sooo elated to realize that my belief the morning 2day has been wronged and India FINALLY clinches its waiver at the NSG... Had been rough in my thoughts about China (which actually abstained at final vote paving way for a consensus)... Whew!!!!! 3 days of grueling and toilsome talks, negotiations and uninterrupted swim upstream amongst barriers...

NSG - Nuclear Suppliers Group i.e. an International body which gives clearances for nuclear trade among countries with a few laws abiding them for nuclear co-operation and safety in order to have nuclear harmony in the world... Its two weapons for the same being:
> NPT: Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty
> CTBT: Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty

India being the ONLY 1 among 45 of its members (46 now) to have a privilege of not signing the above two treaties and still being recognized as a Nuclear Power...Definitely suggests India at a pedestal above others...Reasons being put to this special India specific exemptions (from an Indian perspective) - India, the hugest democracy in the world having a strong track record of its Non-Proliferation Policy, Attainment of Moratorium over any further tests after Pokharan-II in 1998, No-First-Use Declaration and a Possible Threat to Indian National Security made its case strong enough to get a CLEAN WAIVER (as they say).... Plus having United States weight behind it... Plus when it was realized that there were a huge number of calls being made from Top-Most-White-House officials including The Prez n Ms. Rice for lobbying support, the deal was bound to get through...

N yes it did get through - marking an end of India's decades-long isolation from the nuclear mainstream and of the technology denial regime...

Hmmm ... Looks like I'm writing a report over it...Hmmm...Let’s get back to my blog thing...

I'm in no sort related directly to the deal being through...But still 2day I feel proud n joyous enough even to party over the issue...Every Indian would be...
Felt happy enuff to write a post over it...

Congratulations people on being citizens a Nuclear State (oopss !! an Internationally Recognised Nuclear State now)... :-)

'Red Letter Day' in the Indian History Endss...

God Bless All !!!

Time tells its tale and Time takes its toll....

A lot has happened in the past three months.

Its been four months of my abscence in the blog world, even though there has been a lot that i wanted to share here. Irony is dat this 'lot', happening quickly in succession, itself became the reason for my becoming 'miss-no-time-for-blogging'!!

Exams got over in May...and with that our graduation too got completed. We had our share of outings with frnz, for wat seemed lik the 'one last time together'...soon everyone got busy, some in MBA some in their offices etc. I, however, was completely free, awaiting the final joining date at the company where i was placed. It was towards the end of May itself that things started hapening in quick succession.

First, this summer training offer from DTZ international dat came my way. With renovation wrk going on at home, it was impossible for the only holidaying member of the family (that was me) to take up the offer. But their offer, that came through internal reference, and my interview for the same, happened so quickly that there was no time to think. I accepted the offer to wrk with them for a month.
And it was a blessing dat i joined, for it helped me get over a weird childhood phobia, which hindered a lot of things till now and which we will not deliberate on, now:).
The experience was great, not to mention dat i got the maximum possible perormance bonus along with the fixed stipend....my first income! Plus eventful weekends after busy office schedules on weekdays is always a fun aspect of doing a job!

In the meanwhile, I lost touch wih the ongoings back home. I became completely unaware about how the renovation work was progressing! But it is really a nice experience to get back home at 9, after a day of hard work and feel rejuvenated by the mere togetherness at home. I used to purchase sweets or ice cream and the like to serve in the last course for dinner, on my way back home. Our dinner time became laughter sessions where we laughed about weird things dat happened in our offices and trust me, there always used to be many !

The renovation work suffered a lil, for we couldnt giv it the due attention. Meanwhile, for me, my relationships suffered a lot and i had lost touch with almost everyone... some being very close frnds. And this rebuilding of relatiosnhips took up all my time till now! i got back in touch with a lot of frnz from college and school. One of my closest frnds was scheduled to leave for the US for higher studies and this came as a big blow to me.
But since what has to happen cannot be helped, i spent my days writing out my thoughts on rough paper, merely to chuck them after a while and spent the evenings planning and packing for the D-day with my friend.
Oh, its hard to bid goodbye to a close frnd and tell oneself that everything will be back like before, when one knows that cant be............sigh....

So studies, work and relationships... exams, job and friendship... these formed the essence of a fast life i lived for the past four months...There was something to lose in each of them, but a lot more to gain too... Iv shared all this here bcs whatever i do in life is out of inspiration from every person iv ever interacted with. And whatever i experience is hl like throwing out as pebbles, however small and useless, in the hope of creating ripples in the sea of ideas all around me...

but now im beginning to wonder if all this wd form the essence of the whole of my remaining life... if this is all i would get caught up in doing, in this ONE life.....

seems like some more 'thoughts' are in the offing...
cya soon blog world...
cares n prayers,

'NTPC Experience'

6 Weeks at NTPC...to go on record but actually 8-9 days there...

Was veritably a different sort of experience. It was our Industrial Training at NTPC, Badarpur Plant. Wasn't anything very special...But still i spent 6 Weeks over there...toh it definately deserves a few pixels of space on my Blog Page...

The reason for applying for a training here was - 'A Government of India Enterprise with a known influential person over there' - Thought would be enuff to do away with the training part and will get the certificate just like that...We (Me, Saurabh, Manpreet n Shivani) went there the first day having the belief that we'll have to only come again to collect our certificate...But wasn't quite like wot we had thought..Found tonnes of student with the same belief...We were not among the few lucky ones who got their belief realized...

Training begun with a few lame and boring classes..With the whole strength of batch..With a few 'Cute Faces' as well around...After a few days the actual training begun with our visits to the Power Plant..Were quite enthrailling sessions..But with a 'Wierd + Awkward + Bunglesome Helmet' on our heads which made us look like 'Bandar Looking Idiots' wandering in the plant..We were supposed to bring an 'Industrial Safety Helmet conforming to IS:2925'...But we prefered this Rs 30 waala (Sponsored by Saurabh) from a roadside Helmetwaala with its losely bound, pathetic strands of cloth in the interior (Dunno for What - Hmmmm...were they to get a good grip of our head orrr maybe to cusion our head in the hot enviro ???...Waise wasn't good for any of the two...Wud have cracked like an egg in case of any mishap so wotz the point having a gr88 grip...N n that sticky cusioning by those strands wouldn't have done any good to our head..) ...N they came in such exuberant colours...Huh!! .. Mine being MAROON...
Sardar Manpreet eluded all this emabarrassment with his Usual Pagdi on...Biased are the rules...

All those 'Cute Faces' disappeared soon..Was quite boring now finding 'Mumfali-Eaters-At-Work' kind of people to train us for 15-20 minutes a day n give full day attendence..Some of them were soo kool to give attendences of days in advance...Government Offices are full of Kool People..Kudos to you guys.. ;-)
Sardar was good at Patao-ing all Sardar Instructors over there with his extreamely 'Gharelu Talks' in punjabi with them...Earned us few more attendences...

The most recherche n kool thing over there was the canteen with sucha Low Priced Menu - we looked at the Menu Board everytime ultimately to settle at a 'Full Sized-Hygienic-Good Looking Dosa' at Rs 5...Where else in world can you get it for as less as Rs 5...Ate quite a lot in our last few days there...

Submitted our 'Self-Made Reports'...Got a Certificate of being 'Very Good' at training from 'Mr Manmohan Singh'...Celebrated with Chicks-n-Mutts at CP...

Wish I had spent a few more days over there...Coz m feeling sooo vella at home these days...Vella enuff to write a blog entry about not so special thing...
N 'The NTPC Experience' Ends...

Good Night...

God Bless All !!!

The Blog Idea...

Doing wonders it is…Bringing out things which could never have been thought of…Initiating a different sort of thinking (a more positive 1) – Thanks 2 a few blogs I tune in regularly, a habit which cropped up suddenly 1 day when I thought of Blogging…Rightly said – “ An Idea can change your life”… :)

‘Blog – An Entire World’ was the title of an article I read an year back I guess in a magazine…BLOG – seemed a funny word to me…the same day I came back Googled it out on the net… n registered at blogger.com without my own blog…

Read a few blogs that people around had written and was amazed to find that there is a blog for everything one can imagine…Be it Music (earlier had difficulty finding music on net but tune into a music blog n people are crazy to help you – ask for 1 you will get 10), Sports (individually for each sport one can imagine and going further.. a blog for each and every aspect of that sport)..Personal diaries made public (as mine)…People continuing their work like book writing over a blog constantly getting Pre-Publication Reviews in order to enhance it further. Almost everything one can possibly think of. From ‘Cruel Nasty Boss Bashing Blog’ to ‘Under-the-table Earning Tips Blog’ to ‘Gol Gappe Blog’ to ‘I Love Being on Top Blog’ (‘On Top’ of someone during an act – enough to be understood now) to ‘Flings with Boss’s Wife Blog’ to innumerable unofficial celebrity blogs termed ‘Official So-n-So Blog’…Huh!!! Absolutely Everything…

Days and months passed only with a thought of starting my own blog sometime soon. It wont have ever happened if I had not written ‘Blogging’ as my interests in my CV and also unless the other Contributor at our Blog - Ritu had not told me her experience at Interviews n questions about her same hobby ‘Blogging’…So I started with this – “Yet Another Day Ends…”. Topic came in from nowhere. Just that night, I wanted to write about anything so it was about how I went about the day.

All these months, I have just been stringing words into sentences which sometimes are of no meaning as I am doing right now. Dunno why I am writing this post but this has been the feeling inside with all my posts. Though later when I read them I feel – Thank God I wrote all that… At least the day got captured. N now I love writing whatever I feel like knowing that no1’s going to scrutinize it or judge it. It makes me think about a lot of things that I would never ever have thought of in general. And the Blog is paying as well…Even my interviewer asked me about my blog…Got such nice comments from people (Though I would have loved it if some1 had bashed any post of mine as well)…It gave me a really nice friend…N most importantly I earned $6.98 in 6 months. More than a Dollar per month… Hehehe…

Blog – Seriously a Parallel World… N I love being a part of it…

N yeah…Keep Clicking on the Advertisements on the Right Side…They Make Me RICH!!!
(Issued in Interest of the Blog by the Author) ;-)

Make a Good Day… God Bless All!!!

Being A Guide...

It has a been a long time since I went out…I mean like on a holiday…the last 1 I remember was when I was in Class 12 to South India…Since then the plans never worked out...This time I had my cousin visiting us from US. He was coming to India to see, feel and discover India n INDIOCITY (pronounced as – “inh-dio-si-ti” origin – 24th May, 2008 en route Jaipur). And the important thing here… I was to be his guide to all places…Me…who is at times confused between “Babar n Birbal” as the dad of Akbar… Waise its Babar, I know… :)… Ohhh!!! … I forgot Humayun, Babar was his Grandpa...

Chuck it all…Even he didn’t know anything so my scrambled knowledge didn’t matter much. I took him to some places in Delhi like Qutb Minar…Humayun Tomb…India Gate…President House… President House (bahar bahar se) for a special reason…I actually wanted to show off my picture with the then President Kalam inside President House… ;) … Also told him that commoners are not even allowed to roam around in here, only the invited 1’s and the distinguished 1’s are let in… Hehehe… Jokes apart, I never thought they maintain all these monuments so nicely…They renovate n paint all parts of the monuments except for a few with historical importance n are valued like that un-tampered only….Example – “Bebe Da Poot loves Preeto Ji” (Found this 1 quite good among thousands of love stories written on walls…I guess the Education Department should include that among Architectural Features of Ancient n Medieval Indian Monuments…found it as a Uniform feature with all I visited...)...

We also visited Jaipur n a few more places in Rajasthan. The trip was marred by the recent Jaipur Blasts n the very recent ongoing – Gujjar Reservation Protests…Visited some of the very beautiful palaces n forts in and around Jaipur…Explained to him the related facts… (Facts…should I say them ‘Facts’??? Actually was my noesis gathered from here n there including ‘Jodhha Akbar’…)… As well the learning acquired from susurrations of other Professional Guides explaining around us… Enjoyed a lot there…Even went to see the place where those kool scenes of ‘Rang De Basanti’ were shot… Made the most out of the trip in very scarce time…Had no time for eating, relaxing, sleeping and shopping (for which people are mad at me)… Had an exhausting journey back home again due to the blocked highways n protests around...

The most fascinating thing my bro found in India was the “Mc Veggie Burger “…He being a vegetarian n just those NV Burgers there in US, he was quite exhilarated seeing the vegetarian 1… Even took a picture of it to show to his friends back home… :)

N m excited too…wrote a post in less than 15 minutes…think it’s going to get better with time…

Quite a kool trip… :)

शुभ रात्री ... God Bless All!!!

Yet Another Exam Fortnight...

Huh !!! Sleepless Nights , Cold Perspirations , Nervous Wreckages , Knackered Self Assurance , Fatigued Muscles (wid Incisive Pain) , a Never-Ending & Incessant Course Material...And after all of this...Nothing more than an "Ordinary Mediocre Preparation"...And all this Multiplied BY 6...

Yes It Was Yet Another Exam Fortnight dat i encountered...

D "6" in Multiplication above being number of subjects...I put in some effort to describe them...

1. MPS-II
------> Microprocessor Systems - II
------> MY PARALLAX SUBSTANTIATED - Part II
>>Parallax -- "apparent difference in the position of an object when viewed from different positions"...N it certainly came out to be my Parallax..thot it to be a relatively easier 1 but it was DRASTICALLY TOUGH...But i hope to clear it...
:-\
***************
2. PE
------>> Power Engineering

Are U Happy??

" Feeling sad? Researchers at Britain's University of Leicester reckon you might just be in the wrong country. According to Adrian White, an analytic social psychologist at Leicester who developed the first "World Map of Happiness," Denmark is the happiest nation in the world.

White's research used a battery of statistical data, plus the subjective responses of 80,000 people worldwide, to map out well-being across 178 countries. Denmark and five other European countries, including Switzerland, Austria, and Iceland, came out in the top 10, while Zimbabwe and Burundi pulled up the bottom.

Not surprisingly, the countries that are happiest are those that are healthy, wealthy, and wise. "The most significant factors were health, the level of poverty, and access to basic education," White says. Population size also plays a role. Smaller countries with greater social cohesion and a stronger sense of national identity tended to score better, while those with the largest populations fared worse. China came in No. 82, India ranked 125, and Russia was 167. The U.S. came in at 23. "
Switzerland-2
Luxembourg-10
Japan-90
India-125..:((
Zimbabwe-177

........(article continues.)

User comments on this article in businessweek.com, are varied. While the person who had posted this entry hails frm denmark and has spent 10 months in the US, one of the commenting ppl also hails from denmark and visits often even tho he has been living in the US for 38 years! While the latter has talked abt the impossibility of denmark being the happiest, the author of the post seems to agree with these rankings. it was interesting to go thru the whole page.

What i am curious to find is some more info abt the Indian scenario on this newly evolving 'happiness index'. Also Bhutan's position is worth some more attention, as it was its former king who coined the very term 'gross national happiness'.

Well, one question-Do u think u are happy?

A lil experience...

I think its the restlessness that i get during exams, which compells me to write more ,share more, n vent that restlessness somehow! .... here is a little experience u might like to read through..

I was travelling by bus today, coming back frm college; had some clearance issues to sort out. I took my seven rupee ticket as usual and was sitting at a window seat(oh! thankfully i dint hav to wait for a seat:) ), looking out, unmindfully and in a deep reverie..

Now in such a state of complete detatchment frm your surroundings, if u suddenly notice someone staring at u, frm the corner of yr eye, it becums a rather uncomfortable situation. This girl, sitting next to me, had been throwing glances at me every now n then.

Soon enough, she tapped my shoulder....and her next question was COMLETELY unexpected: 'Excuseme, are you from Mira Model School?' !!!
LO! all i cud do, was to smile quizzically while trying to place dat face(which i thot i just might hav seen SOMEWHERE!) It turned out dat she was my junior n knew me well (which, per se, felt like music to my ears!!lol!). She talked a lot and narrated how she bumps into fellow Mira Modelites quite often! In fact, with a great degree of surety, she claimed that the girl sitting in front of us, was aslo a Mira Modelite - one yr junior to her! Gosh! now THAT would have been a huge coincidence...so we dint venture to find out if the hunch was correct or not!!

...A keen observer she seemed to be. To put it in her words, she used to be 'vellha' at school. ...Well thats okay, as long as she keeps bumping into people, recognise their faces and hav a refreshing chat about school and other things, like she did with me!

Yes, it was very nice talking to her. ..and very nice knowing that i am not a forgotten being, for my juniors.

....
After school got over, i always tried hard to run as far as possible from those memories..memories of the horrible mistakes i did and all the bloopers that happened with me. But after this little incident, for the first time, i wished i could meet up with all my frnds (and 'non-friends') at school... hold a reunion at the school grounds, with the teachers as well! I wished i also had been observant enough at school...

....
Well, (like everytime..) I just realized that i should be studying right now. Every day of mine ends with wishes and desires and i live to fulfill them only. But right now i just wish i could get a good sleep to be able to start a 'good' to-morrow.

Goodnight all...
cares n prayers

Adieu College...

If exams are a serious hindrance for us to pursue some hobbies and interests, im out to disprove just dat! ..exams are almost always knocking at my doorstep; or so it seems! so i thot of giving myself a break and making a blog entry(which is cming after ages!).....hehehe

Well, this is abt college, abt the last few days at college, abt the sudden realization dat coll is over...
' IT'S OVER ', is the phrase i am so scared of hearing frm my loved ones. But here i am , having to say just dat, to my very own college, n its people...

U might think of me as weird, but i cant help expressing dat i actually felt a certain bond with the college building too, while i was leaving college premises late last afternoon. I'll miss the cricket ground, the 'beggars point' , the stairs in front of the seminar hall, the canteen(however much criticised it may be), the intelligently constructed gallery, the carefully calligraphed writings on our desks( hehehehe;) ), the library(my refuge!), the terrace....." oh i wish i cud hug u, my dear college!! ".....

..Okay, im not as 'building' obsessed as u might be beginning to think. ;)haha... n really, its so much abt the ppl i made frnds with, over there...whom ill be leaving behind with 'sweet n sour' memories.
.....At least dats what one of the scribbles on my pair of jeans says.

Yesterday was,in many ways, our last working day. For a few days i was craving to purchase a designer jeans n yester-day gave me that opportunity. I now hav a perfectly designed pair of blue jeans, splattered with various diffrenet sketch pen colors!

What was most revealing abt this writing session, was not the bevy of comments i got, but what i found myself writing for others....for one i wrote," u r the biggest a** h*** iv ever met...i detest u! -your enemy "!! while for another i had, " my tender bud, which i always held too lightly... sorry - yr perfect opposite".... n yet another " bcs of U, i cud never celebrate my bday on MY birth date! i'll always hav this complaint agnst u bro"..! hahaha, funny! n this, " we never talked, but i always admired u, yr way of wrking n the aura u exude...u'll go great guns..god bless.." ......

haha...so many ppl around (40, precisely), and there is a different emotion dat flows for each...everyone is a part of the making of My Life, no matter hw much i detest anyone!

To think of these things, makes me adore the mystery called 'Life' ~~~~~n a flash of a second later i land back on2 the reality of a heartache, sum responsibilities, the pending tasks and......................AN EXAM DAYAFTER TMRW!!

;)......i'll shd now take leave, b4 i realize dat i hav all d course remaining, while this day too ends......
goodbye, make a good day:)

HOLI 2008 - Dirtier Than Ever...

Had been waiting for this day to play Holi wid sum1 for past 1 year…Had thot of it the last Holi Day…But again some things just don’t work out…Whilst even the thot of it was quite gratifying… ;)

Had a good late start to the day…I was still on bed n had a look outta my room’s windowpane…Saw a few kids filling water balloons…It took me a few years back…N I started wondering…it was when – “When I stopped doing all that??”…I was like crazy for such things…Alwaz used to get up early to get a good stock of “ARSENAL” when the enemy (the best of friends in this case) attacks…the “PICHKAARI” being the “GUN”…the “GUBBAARE” (Water Balloons) being the “HAND GRENADES”…the “COLORS” being the “CHEMICAL SPLINTERS”…N those “SPRAYS”…Wot could that be compared to--??...Ohhhh...A strikingly expressive “Picturesque War Scene”...

But last few years se none of this was happening…The “Blog” again reminded me of the fact that life moves on… n on… n on…Itz happening wid all my posts that while writing it takes me back to the past days...memories…Ohkkzz coming back to the current Holi , this time it was the same dirtier as ever…Started at home wid my best friend – Gaurav coming to my place n then the usual get together at our colony park…It always starts in nice way...Gulal n all…Ends up in an entirely different world…The first coating is always herbal…Soft…Scented...soothing Gulal…the next one being water colors…then itz the permanent colors…Wot Next… ?????

Holi being the only day when I get my hair conditioned wid eggs…Feels terribly, abysmally slimy and Yuckkk !!! types when itz your head but amazingly freshening when itz sum1 elz’s head…n then the icing on the cake being the “Keechad” formed in the park due to water…n then the “ASLI” Holi starts with evry1 eyeing to dump n trash sum1 into that muddy thing…I eluded this time when had airs of me being the next into that “Keechad”… N yes we danced a lot as well this time as always…The only thing we wished n wasn’t quite dunn was “BHAANG”…Ho nahi paaya…Maybe next time…N then 2 hours of exhaustive n wearying bath…to be presentable the next day thinking – “Next Time Yaar Inti Holi Nahi Khelni”…

***Slept All Day Afta Dis***

N Yet Another Dirty Holi Day Ends…

N yupz…1 more thing…”The 3 Musketeers” celebrated their Holi the next day boozing quite a lot…N then had heads going round n round n round…Hope no1 noticed us… :)
***आप सबको होली की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं ***

The Life n Lies of Mobile Co.s

Making money thru hoax offers, is often thot to be easy as spreading bread on butter...thanx to the existence of gullible customers. However, its very righlty said, that one shd never treat an adversary as a fool......;)
Read on...

The sequence of events:
I got a call, with the caller claiming it to be on behalf of Vodafone(or 'voda' as the caller was calling it...with love, perhaps!). He made a very lucrative offer on my exisitng post paid number. I consented to avail the offer. They were to send their 'executive' in an hour, frm Okhla. Meanwhile, i called the cust care to cross-check if that offer is existing under any scheme...n recieved a flat 'no' for an answer. Ha! me n mom prepared to catch them off gaurd... n, to top it up, their mistakes were glaring:

1. Salesmen, as we know, are specially trained to be patient n coat their wrds with dullops of sugar syrup; the man who called me, was impatient even while explaining the offer, let alone addressing my queries.

2. The 'executive' dint hav an identity card to start with. Then, he became rude wen we insisited that we wont let him in without one. ('arey madam, aapko connection lena hai ke mai jau?!').

3. We asked him to show what bill would he giv to us. He showed one, with some XYZee name on it & a mere rubber stamp. If they had to trick customers, they shudve had sth with at least Vodafone Essar's name on it....:))

4.(Hang on, this one was the huge one!)We asked dat exec, to tell us y this offer was for my no. only. To dat he replied, 'This offer is being made to select customers, who hav been paying bills regularly and on time.' Well, i hav been making late payments for the last 5 months!!! (okay, nw dont laugh at my extent of laziness..)

5.(This one was too much..)Moments afer we sent him back, i got a call, supposedly from 'voda'. I, very calmly, told the caller abt the absence of the id card with their exec. He insisted dat he send the exec agn n we giv the payment by check. All i had to say was, 'If u are really from Vodafone, right now, i, as a customer, am lodging this complaint agnst ur company, dat yr carelessness in issuing id cards to yr execs, leaves the arena wide open for tricksters to operate with gr8 eaze. Moreso, bcs there is hardly any info u disseminate abt such rackets! Please look in2 the matter. thank you'.
Bang!

Well, i still dunno if i did the right thing, but having cross-checked at cust care, i was confident dat i was being cheated.

One fine day, 2 yrs ago, i had lost 500 bucks like this. Dat day had ended, with a lesson well learnt. N this day shall end, with the learning well implemented......

Valentine's Day is here!

It's the time of year again when love is in the air -- or at least the pressure is on to show you really, really care on February 14..

How nice it is to fix ONE day in the year wen u can show your undying love for yr sweetheart! .... well, to be honest, its OK. It is just another reason for couples to spend some time with each other...

What amuses me is the commercialization of the whole thing. Taking out a calendar with the likes of 'jewellery day' n 'teddy day', on which u must gift jewellery n teddys...covert commercialization this is! Then, there are roses everywhere. But who bothers abt the way these roses are grown? Fact- roses in US are grown in a heavily chemical centric manner in Latin America. Lots happen over a cup of coffee. n who thinks abt the ppl behind that charming taste? Fact-ivory coast, where 40% of the world's cocoa is produced has a persistent child labor problem.

What i mean to say is, spending some time with yr loved one(s) is often more cherished, than if u take to the stereo-type gifts n bouquets of roses! We cud try something new this valentine's...like gng to the church, talking to the Father n knowing what valentine's day is all abt, historically. Or go to places like the Spastic's Society n just spending yr day there with those love hungry kids. Beleive me, it feels gr8 to be with yr love, among those kids who lap up as much love as u shower on them!

Well, i wish u all a wonderful valentine's day. I'll be spending mine with all my frnds. N i'll be gng to the church as well n wish that God showers love on u all....
Make a pleasant day...
God bless...:)

The common good aint dat good...

I dint want to add another entry so soon, but im not able to free my mind of this recurring question. Is wishing for a common good, too bad? or harmful....?

Well, the context here is of my last entrance exam, held on 10th feb(today). Yes, as u must hav presumed, im very happy they've finally ended...
Now this exam contains lots of GK. I had put together lot of economy related GK in a file, from diff sources on the net. Barely a day b4 the exam, I put up this file on a public forum of ppl who had, are, or will appear for this exam. I put it up for answering a partic query frm another aspirant and for what i thot would do some 'common good' to all aspirants.

However, i recieved replies saying they already had all this data! N yet no one had posted a reply to the queries! Like rats these people were gaurding their pieces of information in their bill! Hiding it away, so no one cud catch a glimpse of their 'hard earned trophy'!!
Then to top it up, for some weird reason, i myself cudnt bring myself to share that file with the closest of my frnds appearing for this exam! ...tho eventually, i did.

I felt kidded by the whole affair...i still am not able to make up my mind if, by doing so, we strengthen our own chances or spoil others' ?
Whatever it is, i believe there is, now, a permanent dent on my belief system. I certainly wudnt like to be touted as 'naive' to the ways of the world...i wonder if u would!

*** 2 Unforgettable Dazz.. ***

I got a Job...

Hmm...2 daz...31st Jan & 1st Feb...my skills , my patience...infact the whole Aditya was put to a test...Our college placements started on 31st wid the first company being Keane Inc.

An early morning start ... lft home at 6:30 in the morning...it ws pitch dark dat time n offcourse too cold to handle wid just a simple business suit on...I had already prepared myself ( and evry1 at home as well ) wid the fact that it isnt possible for me get thru this company...Evry1 in the college ws like crazy 4 the first company cumng 4 recruitment...1750 students...i cudnt evn think of being selected dat day...Still ws hoping...

The First Hurdle--Written Aptitude Test...wsnt dat big a thing i had thot it to be...Easy question...jus dat u needed to manage time well...Nt much of strictness ws there so we guyz decided to do it cumulatively...Results wer announced afta a long wait...2-3 hrs...Evry1 of us cleared it...Thnx to my frndz as well for it...N then the nxt hurdle...the worst thng dat cud have hapnd...the Group for GD...1 wont believe dat all my best frndz wer in the same group...6 out of 8 RAW members...how cud dat happen wen u have 130 GD groups...I felt really bad...We knew dat sum of us wud go out due to sum of us's words only...4 odrz too wer in our grp...I wish such situations dont come again...

GD started .... The topic ws "Caste Reservation"...wsnt going like a GD at all...turned into a fish market thng...Still it ended...the observer called up 3 names...n asked others to leave the room...my name was dere...During the GD...again i cudnt have thot of getting selected...entered the dscussion afta 4-5 mins had passed...den nt speakng much...actully wsnt gettng the chance at all...Bt still managed to put a few pts...I had alwaz thot that GD wont be that tough 4 me...Bt again...thngs r nt alwaz like u think them to be...i felt bad for my frndz n they felt equally happy for me...

GDs wer a mass rejection round...n then sumthng started...."A WAIT"...for my Technical Interview...rushng from the Cafeteria to Blocks wer list for Tech. wer being displayed...nt finding my name in any of those...again running...n it ws 10 already in the night...Finally their HR gal(cute gal) came n declared ... Thnx a lot..bacc to ur home ppl..Rest of it 2moro...huh...waited for 6 hrz to hear this ??? Reachd bacc home at 12 midnite...knowing that i had to leave at 6 again in the mornin...Had neva been tired like tis...I dunno y...bt again i started preparing maslf n odrz...dat i wont be able to clear Tech Interview...I m nt dat good at the programming part...n datz wot constitutes Tech Int...Din sleep the whole nite...Loooong nite it ws...I wish my sis cud go n giv my int...she has got beta prog skills..Imagine...a student of Class 12 havin betr skills than an engineer (3/4th Engineer actully)...

Itz 1st Feb...i knew it cud be "The Day"...or "Yet Another Day" of my life...i wanted it 2 be the former 1...bt there ws quite a good possibility of it being a latter one...Tech. Interviews started....ppl cumng out n saying "Faad di unhone andar"...sum o dem evn cumng out in 2-3 mins...I was waiting ... n wating ....n waiting...at ws 3...my turn ws nxt...N they announced...Lunch... :( I dint evn waited n lft for lunch...n ovrstayed in the Cafe for lunch(becoming the only guy they had to send a msg on my fone inviting to cum 4 being Intervied)....M happy...Atleast i felt spl...hehehehe...I have moved dat msg to the Saved msgs folder of my fone...heheheh...Will keep it wid me...

I entered the room...thinking i wud cum out soon...30 mins of interview(avg. beng 10 mins)....The guy went on askin n askin n askin...Nt only Tech stuff...bt general stuff as well...N answering dat general stuff ws making me confident evn more...

Hmm...A question in technical interview worth sharing- "Do you have a girl friend ??"...Tooo tough a TECHNICAL question to answer...Fumbld n said "*******"...N they both smiled...N finally he said..."Do u have any questns"...n i ws relieved...i said "No"...n rushed outside thinking dat he wud change his mind n start askin more...Jus turned bacc n asked "Wen r we going get our results?"...He said wid a smile..."U dnt need to worry...Go have fun..."

Again a Loooooooooooooooooooong wait started...i ws waiting for the Tech Int. Results...it ws already 8 raat ko...Lists wer cumng n ppl enjoying to get to the HR Round...I ws still waiting...I had a feelng dat i ws thru... remembring the Tech Interviewer words...N a spl frnd said..."U have been called for the HR Interview"...Went for the HR Round...It ended in exactly 1 n half mins...jus 1 questn..."Y Keane ?"...i answered n he said "i m done"...I asked "M i thru??"...he said "More or less...".....Nw wot does dat mean ?????

:) :) Went to the Audi...for the results...waited again sitting ... at the stroke of midnite the representatives came n declared the results...I got selected...hw cud i get selected in the first company cumng for recruitmnts...m i among the Best ?? Doesnt matter to me...Jo bhi ho...m soooo happy....those few words on my offer letter..."Software Engineer"...n nw i noe hw it feels to get ur first job... :) :)

No Title To It...

Hmmm...I m down wid fever wich is kinda playing hide n seek wid me...once i start believin m fine n i cn do woteva i feel like...it jus sprouts up saying "I m still here Aditya...dont u dare to be urself itni jaldi"....
Koi ni ... the fight carries on...m gonna throw it off itz roots completely...:)

N i m really happy to have got the first entry to my blog...the day i started it (had to coz had mentioned it in ma CV) i had nt thot dat i ll get even a viewer...instead i got an entry and a comment on my first post...itz working out..n i hope i goes on like this...

Wud like to share 1 thng...The Newspaper surveys bout the gen nxt nt aware of the basic thngs bout country...read bout it on the Republic Day's issue of HT...i neva used to belive it all...this tym i decided to go on 4 a personal survey...nt exactly a survey..bt i asked evry1 i met or i talked to on fone...bout the relevance of 26th Jan...N STRANGE it ws dat max ppl wr nt able to answer in one go...ppl had to thnk bout it...
The Lovliest But NOT CORRECT answer i got ws -- "26th January is the day when country shows itz Military might to the world n neighbouring countries so that they dont evn thnk of messing wid us"...
This tym the newspapr survey provd fine...bt i still thnk they jus dunn depict the correct state...I ll do more surveys myself...hehehe..

Yet Another (59th Republic) Day Ends...

A discovery...

Its amazing hw sometimes we tend to miss out on the reality of things around us. for example, the existence of certain patterns (read laws) that govern many movements arnd us, or the notion of a body clock dat amazingly makes us feel hungry at the same time evday...or maybe the abilities of ppl we spend all our days with..

Im sure u wd agree, we tend to overlook what is most apparent. Tell me,for example, hw many of us are actually in the know of all aspects of our siblings' personality, of their various activities, their thots..? not too many, im sure.
I made a discovery this evening. My lil brother has precocious talent for writing n for philosophising. the same 5 yrs younger brother, whom i fight with evday. whom i scold, irritate, mishandle n even ignore soemtimes!
'Words'; the name of the folder i stumbled upon. 'fury', 'silence', ' a morning' ; the names of some of the files within. short essays they were, but thought provoking. I managed to overcome the thief-ish tingle, pricking my conscience, and opened the rest of the files. The voluminous flow of simple emotions and acute observation, from the boy whom i considered as 'hardhearted', confounded me!

On a broader perspective, it changed my view 2wards life. People are after all not exaclty as we think them to be.. we just need to c whats visible instead of striving hard to delve deep in2 one's thots. Definitely, the world is a lot more adorable than we often think it is...

n with a surprise, yet another day ends......

18th Jan,2008 - "The Sandhya Home Visit"

Starting with a Back day entry...Coz it ws quite an eventfl day..i feel like including it..

Hmmm...An early morning start..Had lots of work to do..afta a long time i ws panicky wid thngs goin...Had to complete a love note subah subah..n it deprived me of a bath..drycleaned maself n rushed... i wont let dat happen again atleast for this season..
Our clg Rotaract Grp had organised a visit to an Old Age Home 2day..i n my frnd Rohit wer havin itz charge...we prepared a chart with a nice saying on it for the evnt...Saying k baare me i ll tellu later...got it framed n it luked awesome...Showed it evry1 in the clg..frm student to lecturers to THE DIRECTOR...evry1 said it ws quite good...
I ll evn attach a pic of it...though itz nt dat good a pic..nt evn covering the whole chart...

We went to SANDHYA-the old age home...i was a bit selfish in the transportation process...realizd it later...went maself by car with a few frnz...other members had to commute thru public transport...Has happened a lotto times...that i've realized my selfishness at the end o f the day...bt it wsnt dat big a thng i suppose...koi ni chalta hai itna toh...
It ws a luvly Sandhya (evening) with the elderly out there..People living (of our grandparent's age) there wer soooo loving to us...they shared their experiences...their thots...their stories...
it ws well visible that dese people have been deprived of the other medium for communication..so wen we wer there..they got a chance...
We played antakshari wid dem...danced...ate...shared expereinces...
On the spot v decided to giv each 1 o dem a rose-to make dem feel spl...n sach me it wrked well...ws a frnd'z idea-Ankush's...
It felt sooooooooo nice wen sum of the uncles n aunties there said - "Firse aana jaldi".....i ll keep visiting dat place...agar rotaract ke thru ho paya toh fine...elz by myself...

This day was out of the category of - "Yet Another Day"....it ws sach me a spl 1...

Pata nahi wot all i wrote in my first post...
Much of the analysis part got lost due the writing process...hope it gets better with time...

Gudnite...

The First Post

I created this blog for myself..just like a personal diary , the only difference being - it is on a public forum.

It would be for me (and offcourse open to all if people find worth reading and sharing their thoughts).
"Yet Another Day Ends..."-The topic for my first blog comes right from my habbit of analysing my day at the end of it..people say it is of use...bt in my case it wasnt..But still i luv doing it..So when i was to start blogging .. the first thng that came to my mind was this..

I ll share my day's experiences here (only the postable ones)...Hw i went bout it...hw better it could have been..anythng bout the day...
Hopefully i ll get a few hits at my blog..(dosent matter to me though)..coz yeh hai to apne liye hi...

If sum1 hits it..n read all this..do giv a feedbacc..Also post bout ur bful days..
