254 Nights @ HCL

Hmmm... Apt is the title... THis is what kept me away from my blog for so long... The habitué blogger & internet freak was busy resolving other's technology & networking issues all this while ... But must say it was none the less when counted on FUN Quotient... Have never had this kinda life :-)

Now, When I turn back n have a look at my life's landscape for the last 8-9 months (254 nights I would better say), I find the highest of peaks among the deepest of abysses... Ramping up & down almost everyday...

Its hard to preserve every moment here... But wanna keep a few preserved for the days of my life which made me discover 'Aditya' and most importantly the 'World' around...

It all started with me joining HCL Tech for Network Support Internship & Job for the US Client AT&T... N hence the 254 Nights that I spent there... Every 'Night' almost equivalent to a story... Firstly keeping my 2 Legs & 2 Hands in 4 different boats, each moving towards one of the 4 different corners of a square.. The four boats being - HCL Job, Automation Training in another company during Day Time, My Bare Room in Noida, My Home in Delhi.. Life was least expected to be a MESS!!! - N yes it was !!! Though it all eased out with my Automation Training ending after 90 odd days... N then it was time to reap the harvest - Had the best of experiences (n the worsts as well) I would say...

Amazing were the training days when we explored almost every night life joint possible in Delhi, n then working night & day with the 'MOST EXPRESSIVE' Client... Just loved observing typical American Psyche in one small corner of the mind coz the rest of it was busy resolving their 'Out-of-the-world' issues.. But somehow mastered that n then being among Top Performers with 'PERFECT' scores to being named 'CHRONIC DING MASTER' by the team mates for my inventions of 'Ethical Work Avoidance Techniques' was a huge achievement in itself.. N talking of the team - Was called 'WANTED' having the best Subject Matter Experts & Team Lead... N finally it all ended with me moving on to something 'BETTER' which I would love even more... :-)
Memories & moments have been captured beautifuly in head that it would give the best of laugh & tears the days I let them unfurl.. Boozing to the Ultimate Stage feeling stars around head.. Being hit on by a Gay.. Spending a month in a bare room without any amenities.. My job almost got axed.. Been chased on probably by a thief or 'daaku' as I described it to the friends.. Losing people from my life.. Finding the 'Koolest' & 'Hottest' of friends (Also got to know who the Real One's were..)... What a ride it was, things could never have moved as faster as this..
Thanks for the wonderful memories.. I couldn't have asked for anything more.. Pt. of Nadir to Zenith n back.. Loved it all !!

But I still hope, that the best is yet to come where I'm gonna move now.. So Aditya, take it as 'Yet Another Day (or Night) Ends'... N start afresh coz its gonna be BIGGG this time... :-)

God Bless All !!!

Bid Adieu - Last Days at College...

Hmmmm... 4 years is quite a time BUT dunno when n where it passed... I still remember the day I came with my dad to discover that this college of mine is merely a small 'house like building' amidst 'Bijwasan de Khet'... Was thinking of migrating to some other college as it was hard to swallow that my 'college life' is gonna be this... I started n very soon almost fell in love with this chhota sa campus of ours... Loved every single bit of time spent here, be those 'RAW - SMACKDOWN' fights... those cricket matches on 'college ki chhat'... that "Canteen Open Area-cum-Football Ground-cum-Cricket Pitch-cum-Basketball Court"... those hours of Dumb Charades - 'Chup @#0^I' as it was called by us... that 'Rotaract-Baazi'... n what not, Blogger wont provide enough space to cramp in all... :(

SWOOOSHHHHH !!!! Jus like that it passed... N now its all over... Jus had the last day at college 2day... No more daily early morning College Cribbing... No more 'Overpouring Bus No. 801' ke peeche bhaagna... Ajeeb it may seem but somehow I managed loved it all...

N we had realised it quite a few days back itself that the countdown has begun... So tried making the most outta last few days at college... I particularly tried spending time with every1 I knew in college... Like staying till late in college even having the wierdest of them to accompany... But I loved them too... :-) ... Attending college regularly though it was never required to do so, coming to colg even on Saturdays... Huh!!! That I know was being quite desperate... Talking to classmates whom I never used know even by names... Being frnds with a few good ppl whom i neva noticed in clg n who eventually became vry good frnds of mine... the last few days saw it all...

Dunno wot m writing but feel like writing everythng datz coming to my mind rite nw... Cn keep on writng the whole night... Dnt feel like droping any moment that is coming to my mind... N hey... A strange thng... last few days we used to msg evry1 in class... like... "2moro in a Blue Jeans...WHite SHrts every1..." ... "2moro every1 wid a Tie" n amazingly ppl used to follow dat dress code... n it looked AWWWSOME...

The memories have been engraved deep within the cerebrum... Were the best days of my life... Dnt feel like I hv missed on anythng here, taking as much as I cud from here... a big bunch of frnds (actually more than frnds - My R.A.W... vryyy dear to me)... That hefty amnt of experience I got with dose Rotaract Events n Amitechs (made me realize the real me from within)... Dose OK marksheets which have been fair to a student like me (havin 90s as well as Stars ;-))... Lots n lots of love I saw on mah TShrt 2day afta scribling... Gonna miss u all (xcept for a few bout whom I knw we'll alwaz be 2gether)...

As our Class T-Shrt said - 'Officially Awesome'... We actually were...I.C.E - 09 Rocked...N that too vry hard... Harder than any1 can possibly imagine !!!

Sentence Completed... 2005-2009 (Although wasn't at all a 'Sentence')...

Goodnight !!!
God Bless All with a Happy Fulfilled Life...

Earth Hour

I'm hoping that if you are reading this, you are well acquainted with what the title stands for. Still, for the uninitiated (poor soul), it is a campaign for unifying the people all over the world for safeguarding the future of our planet earth. The aim is to address the issue of fast saturation of our non renewable resources and global warming.

This campaign was propagated by the WWF - The World Wide fund for Nature AKA World Wildlife Fund. For more about it, here is the link... VOTE EARTH !!! http://www.earthhour.org/about/

This year, this campaign was advertised all over the world for the first time, and it was a call to the citizens of earth to switch off all their lights on Saturday, 28th march, 2009, between 8:30 to 9:30 PM Local Time. WE did. And so did many people across the globe. Though there were still people who were clueless about the whole initiative. But there were certain things, I thought, need a mention..

For one the use of candles was being much discussed on radio stations and TV. Wax too is yet another non renewable resource. And what is more, such mass use of candles too is a polluting agent !!! Then why glorify its use for the "Earth Hour" ???

Second, the issue of practicality. Do you know that in cities where electricity is supplied through nuclear power, such an initiative would actually cause immense waste? If you come to think about it, the reason is simple - Nuclear power generation requires the nuclear plant to be fed with a set mass of enriched uranium, called the "critical mass". Now the capacity of the power station is decided according to demand and when there is sudden drop in demand, the whole nuclear power generated goes waste. This means that a whole lot of nuclear waste is created, and all the nuclear energy generated in the process, gets wasted.

Flip sides always seem to haunt us. But I must say the hour that I spent with my family, in complete darkness, was pretty enlightening. Spent a good time with them, while enjoying the thunderstorm, and the sound of the rain hitting hard on our windows.I voted earth. Did you??

Cares n Prayers...
-Ritu

Yeah, we too switched off (not completely though) for the hour... N I also remember the message you sent just to confirm the same... :-)

I would accept that we didn't go into complete dark mode... BUT we made sure that all of us were in the same room so that we would need just one light (that too small CFL) n weather too was on our side to cool things that day... Switched off all other things and had a good time playing cards (which we do quite often NOW)... N it was amazing to see the news next morning saying soooo soooo much of Mega Units of Electricity were saved the same day... There are quite a lot of good people there who still love our place... Glad to know :-)

God Bless Our Earth !!!

Rebonding... - A Step Towards a Makeover

Rebonding. Speak this word and you'll spark off a discussion with mixed reactions. .. (among both gals, and today's fashion conscious guys). It is a chemical process by which the texture of your hair can be changed and they become smooth and straight, irrespective of how they were before. Sounds exciting ... does it?

Well, look at d pic here, n u'll know how exciting it must be... a least for an onlooker of the chemical process. I got rebonding done, out of sheer curiosity (and one other funny reason as well..) as to what happens once one gets it done...and what makes it such a scary thing for many people.

It was a funny experience.
I sank in in one of the empty seats, in anticipation of what might they do to my hair. A protective garment was wrapped around my neck and my hair wetted and combed straight. They then squeezed out a white paste (that horrible smelling chemical!) and applied it to my hair, taking just about 100 strands at a time(dint seem more than that..). They then carefully sandwiched that set of hair with a rectangular piece of some -kinda-thick-paper. This was repeated for different sets of strands of hair, and soon enough i was looking like this:-

And as if an icing was missing. my head was finally covered with a foil paper! (An ALUMINIUM Foil!!! ) My friend, who had thankfully consented to accompany me, commented lightly that I was looking like Tantya Tope! She was having a merry time clicking pics of my sorry state...

I stayed like that for about an hour, after which all of that irritating stuff was removed from my head, and the smelly chemical washed off from my hair. My hair were then blow dried. But what came next was a lil more disconcerting.

Press. The press with which u iron your clothes. That was what my hair were subjected to, next. Only, this was an instrument designed for ironing hair only. This time about twenty strands of my hair (counted 20!) were taken at a time, and 'ironed', for about 10 minutes. There were 4 men standing on my head and doing it simultaneously - time saving tactic probably. Nevertheless, the whole ironing task took another hour in total.

My hair were shining away by the time the ordeal ended (and smelling strongly too, of the shampoo used.. nice smell that was though..). Pretty as they were looking, the customers around started expressing their surprise at the wonderful 'results' of the chemical treatment. But they did not know probably that it had been four hours of sitting and enduring something that wasn't very pleasing to any of the five senses (Barr the sense of taste; they were serving good coffee) ... I had to purchase a specific shampoo and conditioner and serum, as according to the professional's prescription, to ensure good health of my hair.
I paid the total amount (I'm not going to tell how much), smiled at their elated parting comments about my hair , ("oh the results are so good. They always are good on 'virgin hair'. Your hair are looking very pretty...." blah!) and walked out with my dear friend who kept me company the whole time; which was one great thing .. god bless her!

My hair are looking gorgeous now, especially after i got a new hair cut too and compliments have been pouring in. But this was perhaps the last experience of its kind in my life.. hopefully so.

Phew, novel though the experience was, i found it funny enough to share here..
Ill have more interesting stuff than this to share in the near future...
Till then, have fun blog world...

Rotaract 'Chandigarh - Kasauli' - 2009

What better a start to our last sem in this college could we had expected...
Our Rotaract Club's Trip to Chandigarh (Extended to Kasauli forcibly - Thank God that the force behind 'forcible extension' was strong enuffff....)

Would sum-up the whole 3-day experience in a few lines written by a friend (also an amazing companion on the trip)... He versifies our lovely trip as follows:

"A trip to a beautiful city,
with friends and friends to be...
With faces filled with excitement n glee,
did we embark on a magnificient journey...
An important junction and deserving it'd be,
in our meandering path to terminal destiny...

In the foggy dim we carved our light,
and sculpted in our minds the breathtaking sight...

We shared the truths from private shelves,
and jestfully dared to find new selves...
Every moment so joyous and lovely it was,
none shall fade as time would pass..."

Loved every arcsec of every minute soooo applaudable-ly spent... Wasn't at all a 'Yet Another Trip'... Moments engraved forever...

A lovely & endearing start to 2009...
May this New Year bring lots n lots of frolic in everyone's lives...
Keep Enjoying...

God Bless All !!!

12 December...

....Amidst heap of books & notes around me on bed, 2 hrs past the start of my b'day... Was wondering that what could have been the importance of this day in history... Offcourse it marks birth of the 'Aditya'... But still there could be somewhat less important events as well that this beautiful day has witnessed in past... Google Worshiper... What I'm... Provoked me to switch on the net n Google it out... But then another fone call n I realized ki exam hai subah... Got lost again in books...

Toh finally 2day got some time to Google it... N there were some events which got lucky enuff to share their occurence with the day of my birth - 12 December... :P

Apart from Rajnikant & Yuvraj sharing b'days with me & Malaika-Arbaz's Shaadi...found a few ajeeb ones like:

1911: Delhi replaced Calcutta as capital of India...

1917: First World War: 500 French soldiers involved in Italy got mysteriously killed when train derailed in Modane.

1913: Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa was stolen from Louvre Gallery in Paris... Was found in the bedroom of a small hotel in Florence, Italy the same day...

1941: Second World War: Adolf Hitler ordered 'Clean sweep Extermination' of the Jews all around the world in a public speech...

1971: Indo-Pak War: Indian Air Force struck Pak Troups hard in blitzkrieg approach... Also dropped leaflets urging Pak to suurender...

2008: Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi released N Alex Braineir got seized with teeth of a mad dog outside his office (Courtesy: Alex Braineir microblogging at some site where I reached dunno how)...

So to conclude, there was nothing very important I got afta all that effort that I was expecting...
N m happy to have this day remembered only for a very few good reasons - one being mine... :)

* Hey ... Do tell hwz the new look of blog or shud i revert back to the earlier one ???

Met A Lil Girl ...

Hmmmm...Winter Vacations...Adore this time of year soo much...

N this tym I got a chance to get away from usual course (though only for 2 days) to attend a function at Mama's place in Rajasthan... But still got full opportunity to feel the chill by leaving at 5 in the morning (night actually it was) to catch an early morning train... Loved d 'Swish-Swish' of cold air passing by my ear... Dat lesser than 20m visibility... Dew everywhere around n that virtual smoking dat I had been missing since early morning skool daz... Loved it all...

Met this little girl as my neighbour on d way in train...

Quiet she sat beside me on the middle seat... I could see dat she wasn't happy being between a stranger(i.e. me on window seat) & her Grandmom(on aisle seat) of that Chair Car Coach of train... Her mom n dad being in the next seats at the back...

Sooo cute she was that I kept switching views between the window scene outside n her typical childishly cute chores... Jaldi hi, I realised ki she was willing to be on my window seat (as I used to like wen i was small...N 2day as well)... She was constantly leaning over me to look outside n as soon as I would turn my face towards her's... She wud just shy away as if she was into something she wud be scolded for... I finally overheard her talking to her grandmom saying - "Dekha jaldi aate toh meko khidki waali seat milti"...

Offered her my seat n in return got sucha lovely smile... I could see in her eyes how much she loved the gesture... N I too felt euphoric that it made her happy... In the swapping of seats with her I got to talk to her... She was much younger than wot I had thot (I had guessed her to be around 6-7 but she told dat she was in LKG... dat means 3-4 yrs old)...

Didn't chat much n she again got hooked with her nose on the window pane looking outside n often turning here to show sum stuff outside... Kept chirping thngs to herself... N I kept observing n observing... Jus talked once more wen she asked me to have some chip from Lays Family Size Packet... I took one... N her grandmom came in saying -"Good girl"... (I jus had one chip...n it was fine... but Lays waale toh keep saying in tagline -"No one can eat just one" )...hehehe..PJ...

Datz it... 3 hrs passed sooo chop-chop n I got down with my mom from train at our station...

She must have continued with her nose on window pane...N her hand goin in n out of dat Lays Pack...Munch munch sounds among those continous attractive n holding talks she was into with herself... :)

Whatever... she made my day with her lovely smile n I hope I made her's by xchanging seats with her...

Yea... Forgot to ask her name... Her mom from the backseat once cried - "Nonuu... gandi baat"... 'Nonu' must have been her nickname... Anyways m gonna remember her as a cute..lil..angel-like girl who made my day with that 1000 Watt smile...

* N hey sumthng's cooking... new post may arrive soon if I find sumthng on Google...

Keep Smilling !!!

'School is Coooolll '.....

.... thats what many of the slam book entries, by friends at school, reads. The slam book that i made everyone fill, during our last few days at school...

School has such a charm to it; a child-like innocence abounds, an innocence and a freeness that i realized i had long forgotten; that i seem to have re-learnt today..Thanks to the food fest organized at my school today.

I had visited school quite a few times in the last few months, but everytime it was after school hours, when the school is all empty. For today however, i had decided to visit and be a part of the food fest. And so i reached school at 11-o-clock. And lo... the scene looked like that of a fete! It all seemed grand and complete with swings, food stalls(set up house-wise), game stalls (set up and managed class wise), a baby show going on on the stage, and along with all this, songs being played and dedicated on requests from those present there. There was a DJ floor set up in the audi, while the enclosed green area in front of it had a variety of innovative and interesting art works on display, made by children of junior classes.

I had started by taking a round around the school, observing everything my eyes could possibly take in. Once in the school ground, i met all my teachers one after the other. I was pretty ashamed that i dint remember most of them by their names. But surely i remembered all of them by the lil incidents and the lil things i learnt from them. Like how My Hindi teacher, in class Xth., couldn’t believe that i could write some hi-fi Hindi dialogues for a patriotic play, in spite of having a track record of awful Hindi papers...:) It was, however, bcs of her teaching itself that i could write those lines for a play, which won us the first prize..! i loved meeting all my teachers. Each one of them had this look of contentedness which was a treat for my eyes. They were handling stalls with great enthu, and were happy too on meeting ex-students they had taught. It was heartening to see ex-students, who passed out even some 10 years ago, coming on this occasion.

All the teachers i met informed me abt the registration gng on for an alumni association. So i headed for the counter they directed me to, and registered myself. I also left a suggestion for a DJ party for all our batch mates, for i miss those that we had during school days..

One thing struck me hard.. there was not a single soul from my batch, whom i could spot during the one and a half hours i spent there. In spite of the fact that many of them knew abt this event. Goes to show how busy we can get in building our lives both for the short term and long term. Or probably there are some other reasons for not grabbing such opportunities to re-live the beautiful school times.. reasons that i cant see..

Everything seemed just the same as before.. and looking at all the display boards at various parts of the school building was enjoyable too. All those bold captions, strong messages conveyed thru crisp writings and other displays, interesting decorations, announcements for various competitions... everything rang a bell.. of how happening school life always was...:) and how subtly school life shapes us into what we are.. and will be...

***** Happy Birthday to Me *****

Hey Blogger... Sorry was outta sight and reach for soooooo long... But see m back just for you even in the midst of my Semester Examinations... N yes ... Wish All Good Things for Me... Coz its Mah B'day 2day... :) :) :) :)

Hmmm... The day is almost at the brink of changing... N yes it was an eventful one... Atleast eventful enough for a post...
Started 12'o Clock Midnight 2day was the stream of calls that seemed to never end... Almost every1 that I could have thought of remembered mah b'day... Abhi realized that Orkut may have helped a few... I should have disabled the thing there...

I had an exam 2day (which has been going from last 4 yrz - havin an exam on b'day)... Kinda spoils a bit of fun but chalta hai... Went into the paper with an extraordinarily meagre preparation for a tufffffyyyy paper as this one... Goofd up on a lotto questions... Khair it had to end n it did after those 3 toilsome hrz at the first seat of the row in exactly front of the examiner... At times I felt 2day ki hez just sitting to take my exam... Feels like ajeeb at the first seat... Have to face the same trauma again for 2 more papers left...

Found a pleasant surprise outside my examination centre (actually an understatement to be honest)... Found a frnd outside the centre who had abso no knowledge where I could have been... N I could have never expected this from her... A cake for me at my examination centre... Wow !!!!! We celebrated MYYY B'day... Got a few gifts.. Nice ones... The Best among being a 'Diary' - 'Our Diary' with account of sooooo many sweet things of the last few yrz... Cudn't have thought of anything better... Mmmmuuuaaahhhh to you !!!!

So my day finally ends... Yet Another B'day of 21 yrz of my life... Hehehe... :-D

*** Now wot follows is for a speacial person who I knw is definitely gonna read this ***

Hey !!!
I missed you a loooooooot 2day... This has been mah first b'day wen u aren't here... I know you're gonna be very happy 2day as I complete my 21 yrz... Jus wanted to tell you that m missing all that 'Excessive' love, care and affection bestowed on me all these yrz... Jus this much...
N yeah... I got my passport finally done... Sorry thoda delay ho gaya... U had been pinching me for last 3 yrz for it n see the thing i got myself verified on the day u left... N one more thing - I voted against as you would have wished me to - But wot I missed this time was the nagging from 7 in the morning to go n vote...

N I'm trying not to throw my towel on bed before leaving home in the morning... Will keep you update on the progress on this...

P.S. - Plz if you could find some mistakes in the matter I wrote, do correct them... you've been doing them for me itne saalon se... I never used to like it that time... But I miss it nw... :(

Love you lotsss...

Faith...

Since long I have been wanting to write about so may good and bad things. But I feel so overpowered by the on goings of life that I just don’t pay heed to this desire.

Result; a neglected blog. But it's always good to have unexpected sources of inspiration around you. Definitely, if someone reminds you of how u used to get up at 6 in the morning and write, you would feel the zing rushing back to you, wont you??? :)

So I thought let me base this post on some positivity in the midst of a fast life which is ironically dotted with the fear of assault anytime now....

Recently I lost my phone. One of the cheaper Nokia models, but precious it was, for certain reasons. Forgetful as I am, I left it in my office bus on a Thursday evening, after which there was a three day long weekend!
And, alas! I couldn’t contact the bus driver for all the three days that followed. I told my friends and they laughed at me, not as much for my carelessness (for probably they are used to it) but for my belief that the driver might just find it and keep it with himself to give it back on Monday.

Yes that’s what I was hoping for. But Monday morning came, and there was a completely different bus and a different driver :(
My colleagues also laughed at my expectation to get the phone back. "He is sure to have nicked it!!' they had said.

A little after I started the day's work at my desk, I received an IP (an internal messenger that links all employees at office) which I noticed was sent to the whole office. It read thus, "The person who lost a phone in the bus on Thursday, please contact the bus operator"

WOW! I got up to make the call from a colleague’s phone. I ensured that my phone would be handed over to me when I board the bus in the evening.
Just as an FYI, I got it in good condition:)

This little incident proved a lot of things.
For one, having faith is not always in vain. I believe that people around do not always have bad intentions. In fact most of the times they want to help.

All of us learn nice little lessons like 'u must help the one in need', since childhood. But we observe the actions of hardened adults around us and wars that humans perpetrate on each other and slowly unlearn those lessons.

I know that someone dropped a box in a busy market and a little boy who, with all good intentions, tried to give it back to its owner, died, for he never knew it was a bomb. Yet it does not stop me from having faith and helping someone who is in need.. in a similar situation or a different one.

Realize that we are surrounded by our own species. If we lose this faith in each other, it would not only be difficult to live on this earth, but will also mean victory for terror elements. And that is something we don’t want. Do we?

Think about it.

'End of Isolation' - NSG Waiver for India

In the morning I left home with a cognitive content that the 'Deal' would go down and all those bureaucrats and advisors are going to come back home having an all expenses paid holiday at Vienna... N people are going to forget the whole 'Big Story' in a few days constructing space for some other story probably not as important as this one was... or YES !! maybe a bigger one - like a 'Filmstar getting married' or like - 'Khali being kissed at WWE' as 'Breaking News' with 'Exclusive Footages'…

Spent the day doing lots of work , lots n lots of travel n some rhapsodic moments roaming around...Ate a lot 2day...N yeah shopped as well - Not much actually - Just a belt for me...

Returned back to see the news headline 'Deal Done' ... I'm sooo elated to realize that my belief the morning 2day has been wronged and India FINALLY clinches its waiver at the NSG... Had been rough in my thoughts about China (which actually abstained at final vote paving way for a consensus)... Whew!!!!! 3 days of grueling and toilsome talks, negotiations and uninterrupted swim upstream amongst barriers...

NSG - Nuclear Suppliers Group i.e. an International body which gives clearances for nuclear trade among countries with a few laws abiding them for nuclear co-operation and safety in order to have nuclear harmony in the world... Its two weapons for the same being:
> NPT: Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty
> CTBT: Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty

India being the ONLY 1 among 45 of its members (46 now) to have a privilege of not signing the above two treaties and still being recognized as a Nuclear Power...Definitely suggests India at a pedestal above others...Reasons being put to this special India specific exemptions (from an Indian perspective) - India, the hugest democracy in the world having a strong track record of its Non-Proliferation Policy, Attainment of Moratorium over any further tests after Pokharan-II in 1998, No-First-Use Declaration and a Possible Threat to Indian National Security made its case strong enough to get a CLEAN WAIVER (as they say).... Plus having United States weight behind it... Plus when it was realized that there were a huge number of calls being made from Top-Most-White-House officials including The Prez n Ms. Rice for lobbying support, the deal was bound to get through...

N yes it did get through - marking an end of India's decades-long isolation from the nuclear mainstream and of the technology denial regime...

Hmmm ... Looks like I'm writing a report over it...Hmmm...Let’s get back to my blog thing...

Time tells its tale and Time takes its toll....

A lot has happened in the past three months.

Its been four months of my abscence in the blog world, even though there has been a lot that i wanted to share here. Irony is dat this 'lot', happening quickly in succession, itself became the reason for my becoming 'miss-no-time-for-blogging'!!

Exams got over in May...and with that our graduation too got completed. We had our share of outings with frnz, for wat seemed lik the 'one last time together'...soon everyone got busy, some in MBA some in their offices etc. I, however, was completely free, awaiting the final joining date at the company where i was placed. It was towards the end of May itself that things started hapening in quick succession.

First, this summer training offer from DTZ international dat came my way. With renovation wrk going on at home, it was impossible for the only holidaying member of the family (that was me) to take up the offer. But their offer, that came through internal reference, and my interview for the same, happened so quickly that there was no time to think. I accepted the offer to wrk with them for a month.
And it was a blessing dat i joined, for it helped me get over a weird childhood phobia, which hindered a lot of things till now and which we will not deliberate on, now:).
The experience was great, not to mention dat i got the maximum possible perormance bonus along with the fixed stipend....my first income! Plus eventful weekends after busy office schedules on weekdays is always a fun aspect of doing a job!

In the meanwhile, I lost touch wih the ongoings back home. I became completely unaware about how the renovation work was progressing! But it is really a nice experience to get back home at 9, after a day of hard work and feel rejuvenated by the mere togetherness at home. I used to purchase sweets or ice cream and the like to serve in the last course for dinner, on my way back home. Our dinner time became laughter sessions where we laughed about weird things dat happened in our offices and trust me, there always used to be many !

The renovation work suffered a lil, for we couldnt giv it the due attention. Meanwhile, for me, my relationships suffered a lot and i had lost touch with almost everyone... some being very close frnds. And this rebuilding of relatiosnhips took up all my time till now! i got back in touch with a lot of frnz from college and school. One of my closest frnds was scheduled to leave for the US for higher studies and this came as a big blow to me.
But since what has to happen cannot be helped, i spent my days writing out my thoughts on rough paper, merely to chuck them after a while and spent the evenings planning and packing for the D-day with my friend.
Oh, its hard to bid goodbye to a close frnd and tell oneself that everything will be back like before, when one knows that cant be............sigh....

So studies, work and relationships... exams, job and friendship... these formed the essence of a fast life i lived for the past four months...There was something to lose in each of them, but a lot more to gain too... Iv shared all this here bcs whatever i do in life is out of inspiration from every person iv ever interacted with. And whatever i experience is hl like throwing out as pebbles, however small and useless, in the hope of creating ripples in the sea of ideas all around me...

but now im beginning to wonder if all this wd form the essence of the whole of my remaining life... if this is all i would get caught up in doing, in this ONE life.....

seems like some more 'thoughts' are in the offing...
cya soon blog world...

'NTPC Experience'

6 Weeks at NTPC...to go on record but actually 8-9 days there...

Was veritably a different sort of experience. It was our Industrial Training at NTPC, Badarpur Plant. Wasn't anything very special...But still i spent 6 Weeks over there...toh it definately deserves a few pixels of space on my Blog Page...

The reason for applying for a training here was - 'A Government of India Enterprise with a known influential person over there' - Thought would be enuff to do away with the training part and will get the certificate just like that...We (Me, Saurabh, Manpreet n Shivani) went there the first day having the belief that we'll have to only come again to collect our certificate...But wasn't quite like wot we had thought..Found tonnes of student with the same belief...We were not among the few lucky ones who got their belief realized...

Training begun with a few lame and boring classes..With the whole strength of batch..With a few 'Cute Faces' as well around...After a few days the actual training begun with our visits to the Power Plant..Were quite enthrailling sessions..But with a 'Wierd + Awkward + Bunglesome Helmet' on our heads which made us look like 'Bandar Looking Idiots' wandering in the plant..We were supposed to bring an 'Industrial Safety Helmet conforming to IS:2925'...But we prefered this Rs 30 waala (Sponsored by Saurabh) from a roadside Helmetwaala with its losely bound, pathetic strands of cloth in the interior (Dunno for What - Hmmmm...were they to get a good grip of our head orrr maybe to cusion our head in the hot enviro ???...Waise wasn't good for any of the two...Wud have cracked like an egg in case of any mishap so wotz the point having a gr88 grip...N n that sticky cusioning by those strands wouldn't have done any good to our head..) ...N they came in such exuberant colours...Huh!! .. Mine being MAROON...
Sardar Manpreet eluded all this emabarrassment with his Usual Pagdi on...Biased are the rules...

All those 'Cute Faces' disappeared soon..Was quite boring now finding 'Mumfali-Eaters-At-Work' kind of people to train us for 15-20 minutes a day n give full day attendence..Some of them were soo kool to give attendences of days in advance...Government Offices are full of Kool People..Kudos to you guys.. ;-)
Sardar was good at Patao-ing all Sardar Instructors over there with his extreamely 'Gharelu Talks' in punjabi with them...Earned us few more attendences...

The most recherche n kool thing over there was the canteen with sucha Low Priced Menu - we looked at the Menu Board everytime ultimately to settle at a 'Full Sized-Hygienic-Good Looking Dosa' at Rs 5...Where else in world can you get it for as less as Rs 5...Ate quite a lot in our last few days there...

Submitted our 'Self-Made Reports'...Got a Certificate of being 'Very Good' at training from 'Mr Manmohan Singh'...Celebrated with Chicks-n-Mutts at CP...

Wish I had spent a few more days over there...Coz m feeling sooo vella at home these days...Vella enuff to write a blog entry about not so special thing...
N 'The NTPC Experience' Ends...

Good Night...

God Bless All !!!

The Blog Idea...

Doing wonders it is…Bringing out things which could never have been thought of…Initiating a different sort of thinking (a more positive 1) – Thanks 2 a few blogs I tune in regularly, a habit which cropped up suddenly 1 day when I thought of Blogging…Rightly said – “ An Idea can change your life”… :)

‘Blog – An Entire World’ was the title of an article I read an year back I guess in a magazine…BLOG – seemed a funny word to me…the same day I came back Googled it out on the net… n registered at blogger.com without my own blog…

Read a few blogs that people around had written and was amazed to find that there is a blog for everything one can imagine…Be it Music (earlier had difficulty finding music on net but tune into a music blog n people are crazy to help you – ask for 1 you will get 10), Sports (individually for each sport one can imagine and going further.. a blog for each and every aspect of that sport)..Personal diaries made public (as mine)…People continuing their work like book writing over a blog constantly getting Pre-Publication Reviews in order to enhance it further. Almost everything one can possibly think of. From ‘Cruel Nasty Boss Bashing Blog’ to ‘Under-the-table Earning Tips Blog’ to ‘Gol Gappe Blog’ to ‘I Love Being on Top Blog’ (‘On Top’ of someone during an act – enough to be understood now) to ‘Flings with Boss’s Wife Blog’ to innumerable unofficial celebrity blogs termed ‘Official So-n-So Blog’…Huh!!! Absolutely Everything…

Days and months passed only with a thought of starting my own blog sometime soon. It wont have ever happened if I had not written ‘Blogging’ as my interests in my CV and also unless the other Contributor at our Blog - Ritu had not told me her experience at Interviews n questions about her same hobby ‘Blogging’…So I started with this – “Yet Another Day Ends…”. Topic came in from nowhere. Just that night, I wanted to write about anything so it was about how I went about the day.

All these months, I have just been stringing words into sentences which sometimes are of no meaning as I am doing right now. Dunno why I am writing this post but this has been the feeling inside with all my posts. Though later when I read them I feel – Thank God I wrote all that… At least the day got captured. N now I love writing whatever I feel like knowing that no1’s going to scrutinize it or judge it. It makes me think about a lot of things that I would never ever have thought of in general. And the Blog is paying as well…Even my interviewer asked me about my blog…Got such nice comments from people (Though I would have loved it if some1 had bashed any post of mine as well)…It gave me a really nice friend…N most importantly I earned $6.98 in 6 months. More than a Dollar per month… Hehehe…

Blog – Seriously a Parallel World… N I love being a part of it…

N yeah…Keep Clicking on the Advertisements on the Right Side…They Make Me RICH!!!
(Issued in Interest of the Blog by the Author) ;-)

Make a Good Day… God Bless All!!!
